Patrick, I'm confused why all files start as WAV 1411 yet for some reason when conversion to MP3 there's always 1 or 2 that come out at lower bitrate. I want to investigate this further so next time you convert WAV files and get one at lower MP3 bitrate, please sent me the WAV files so I can play around and try a few things. It shouldn't be happening.
Bob I'm not going to convert Cds to WAVE anymore, I gave dBpower a try, thanks for pointing that out. Now I rip the Cd to Flac then convert it to mp3 (320) with dBPower of course. I did it yesterday for the upcoming #9, everything is Ok, let me know.
*For #8 I ripped it again to Flac then 320, there's one track in 128 (?!) the 7 Ellington - Grievin', though with dBpower.
Hi Patrick. OK I d/l that and tested. All WAV files at 1411. I converted them to MP3 using dBpower and MediaHuman, both apps gave same result, all converted to MP3 320kbps except track 01 Fats Waller - I'm Crazy About My Baby which shows 128kbps. Then I converted that WAV track #1 using Audacity and got a MP3 320kbps file which passes FTF. So something is going on here I don't understand, I'll ask around a bit on some of the specialist music blogs and see what I can find out. Anyway, a suggestion for you to save you headaches, why not just rip to FLAC and leave it, post everything in FLAC, most jazz fans prefer FLAC files anyway, and anybody who wants them in MP3 can convert themselves.
Thanks Patrick for this set, will work my way through them.
RépondreSupprimerThanks Reb, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm sharing the history and roots of jazz here, and it's not over yet...
RépondreSupprimerThanks Patrick for #8.
